The process / Before commitment
From a first thought to a defined brief.
The next conversation should make the project clearer, not make assumptions on your behalf.
This is an illustrative process. It explains the decisions that would precede real work.
- 01
A starting point
Describe the change in everyday language. A finished design is not needed to explain what is not working.
- Bring into the conversation
- Rooms, concerns and what you want to retain.
- What is not agreed yet
- An enquiry is not a booking or a quotation.
- 02
A useful conversation
Discuss the broad scope and identify questions that need a closer look. A real business would first confirm whether the project and location are a fit.
- Bring into the conversation
- Priorities, existing information and household circumstances.
- What is not agreed yet
- No operating territory or availability is offered by this concept.
- 03
A visit, if agreed
A property review could clarify existing conditions, measurements and the need for specialist input. The purpose and responsibilities would be agreed beforehand.
- Bring into the conversation
- Access, relevant records and the parts of the home involved.
- What is not agreed yet
- A visit does not automatically confirm the work, its cost or suitability.
- 04
A defined proposal
Set out who coordinates, selects, supplies and fits. Record assumptions and unresolved decisions so a finished image is not mistaken for an agreed specification.
- Bring into the conversation
- Included work, retained elements, exclusions and product decisions.
- What is not agreed yet
- Changes in scope need to be discussed and recorded; no fixed price is invented here.
- 05
Agreement before a start
Only then could a real project move toward agreement and planned work. Sequencing and whether the home could remain occupied need their own assessment.
- Bring into the conversation
- Resolved responsibilities, access arrangements and an agreed scope.
- What is not agreed yet
- No start date, safe-occupation promise or contract is created by this demonstration.
