Study 02 / Culture & learning

An identity with
room to change.
Fictional programme · Self-initiated concept · No real event
The question
What stays recognisable when the title grows, the format changes, or a session moves?
This imagined public programme brings talks and workshops together. Its identity must invite attention from a distance, then help a reader find the right session. A poster and a timetable cannot do exactly the same job.
- Proposed scope
- Programme identity, posters, schedule, display and small-screen adaptation.
- Constraint
- Variable title lengths and explicit updates. No real dates, speakers, venues, sponsors or ticket sales.
Decision 01
A recognisable voice, not a fixed poster.
A compact two-line signature anchors the identity. Large sans-serif questions and a high-contrast palette carry the invitation. Information has a separate register, so a longer title does not have to squeeze the time or format out.

Decision 02
When you are planning a visit, time comes first.
The programme sheet shifts from an expressive headline to an ordered reading path. Times stay aligned; titles can wrap. A pause is named as a pause rather than disguised as another session.

Decision 03
Show the change. Keep the meaning.
Colour alone cannot tell someone that a time has moved. The update example names the change in words, keeps the former time for context, and lets an unusually long session title occupy the space it needs.

Learning to look again: the everyday spaces we pass through without noticing
Workshop · Day 01 · Sample only
A text-led adaptation, not a screenshot hiding essential information. This example is deliberately longer than the poster title.
What would need testing next?
Actual print size and viewing distance, a real organiser’s update workflow, translations, attendance information and whether readers notice a changed time. No ticketing, venue or audience study is implied here.
Contribution & limits
- Created for this demonstration
- Two poster treatments, a programme-sheet mockup, an environmental display mockup and editable HTML/CSS schedule and change-notice specimens. All event information is invented for the design test. Nothing was printed, installed or staged.
- Actual authorship
- Brief interpretation, sample writing, design direction, editable web specimens and website implementation: Codex AI for the A&H project. Presentation mockups: OpenAI image generation. No external studio or client contributed work.
- What this does not establish
- Concept work. Not commissioned or launched; no commercial outcomes measured. Mockups are not print-ready artwork, manufactured books, a delivered campaign or evidence of an event.
